great thanks for the reply, this is going to be the first year (i hope) fly fishing for salmon for me.with all them eggs floating around i wanted something different o show them...thanks alot for the advice!!

nice fly dude, i live in new york and we have the fall salmon spawn in lake Ontario,do you think/have you ever had this draw strikes from spawning salmon?

I also live in NY and fish the Salmon River. To be totally honest, about the only two things I fish for the salmon with are comets and woolly buggers in various colors. I think it's way more about presentation with salmon than exactly what you're throwing. Flies are important. Just not as much as how you show it to them.
