My partner, Sean and I took our daughter, Grace, to DC for the Equality March in October 2009, along with our good friends, Josh and Jeffrey and their two children, May and Tom. We wanted to share this moment with our children and help them understand that their parents aren't treated equally by our government, and that it was wrong. This is our Equality March trip through Grace's eyes as she reports back to her 3rd grade classmates.

Both the Advocate.com & EqualityForMarriage.com added it to their sites the week we posted it. Go Grace!

  • I showed this video today in school as part of my presentation on equal rights. I hope you don't mind; it's really a very well-done video =)

  • Wow! That's awesome. I'm so glad you let us know and that you enjoyed it.

  • What a beautiful, beautiful family you are! If there's any sanity in the world you will get the HUMAN rights you deserve (and that I have without having had to fight for it), but until then... it seems like you're doing a mighty fine job raising your daughter to be aware and active.

  • OMG KRISTIN!

  • My father was there, with his friends, I wish I could have been there in person

  • I really like that your telling your kids what's REALLY going on, not lying and saying "the president is fair" like they do in school

  • I just love this video. I have a lesbian mom (and a straight dad and stepmom) and I never had a problem with my mom being a lesbian. When will people start realising that they have the same rights and just are equal? Luckily, in Belgium where I live there's more tolerancy than in the US I think. But still: everybody should be treated equally by others, the law and politics!

  • This is an awesome video! Grace did a really great job with it. It's also nice to see more LGBT families on Youtube!

  • I can't believe this is the same baby I saw in a basket in Ptown many years ago. I think she gets her amazing stage presence from her entertainment industry dads. Great job!!

  • This is a great video!

    Little Grace is very good.

    Good job guys.
