*When Joe got home that evening, still with no sign of Demi, he called David to see if he knew where she was. He told him that neither he or Miley had seen or heard from her since a couple nights ago. After tearing apart his thoughts for about an hour, trying to figure out where she might go, he gave up and walked into the kitchen to grab a beer. This would have been his first drink in about two years now. Just as he was about to take a drink Selena and Nick walked into the kitchen*
Selena: Joe!
Joe: (Set the bottle on the counter, not yet taking a drink) What?
Nick: What do you think youre doing?
Joe: It just makes the pain go away (Lifts the bottle back up about to take a drink)
Selena: (Steps over to him and grabs the bottle out of his hand, setting it on the table) Is that what you think it does? It takes your pain away? What about the pain it brings the people around you, did you ever think of that? Like Devin, your brothers, or especially now Demi and your children.
Joe: Demis gone, she left again.
Nick: Did you talk to David and Miley?
Joe: Neither one of them has seen her since the other night.
Selena: That doesnt mean she left.
Joe: Well what does it mean then? If she needed space she wouldve told me and I couldve left for a little while. Theres no reason for her to have to leave, not now.
Nick: Guys listen, I think we should give this another day or two, to see if shell come home. If not, we can look for her, or file a missing persons report. Any way we do it I know well find her.
Joe: (Picks up the bottle once again and takes a step away from Selena)
Selena: Joe
Joe: (Pours the beer down the sink)
Selena: Thank you.
Joe: So if you guys are hungry, you can get take out or something.
Nick: Youre not eating again?
Joe: Nick you know me, I cant eat when Im nervous, stressed, or worried. And quite frankly Im all three right now (Leaves)
Nick: I hate seeing him like this. Its exactly like the first time she left.
Selena: It was different back then. This time I really dont think that she left, left. I have a feeling that something is wrong, Nick. And I really dont like this feeling.
Nick: (Hugs her) Im sure shes okay. If shes not back in the morning well call the police. For now, we need to calm down and figure things out.
Selena: (Half smiles) And thats why I love you.
Nick: (Smiles back) I love you too.
