The Egypt national football team (Arabic: منتخب مصر لكرة القدم), nicknamed The Pharaohs (Arabic: الفراعنة),and The Kneelers Team (Arabic: فريق الساجديين) amongst non-Egyptian Arab people. The national team of Egypt and is administered by the Egyptian Football Association. They are the current African Champions having won the 2010 African Nations Cup. They are also the most successful African team at Confederation level, winning the ACN seven times: the inaugural African Nations Cup in Sudan 1957, and also won the tournament in the United Arab Republic 1959, Egypt 1986, Burkina Faso 1998, Egypt 2006, Ghana 2008 and Angola 2010.
The Egyptian Head Coach : Hassan Shehata (Arabic: حسن شحاتة) (born 19 June 1949) is an Egyptian football coach and former player, currently the head coach of the Egyptian national team. He led Egypt to three successive titles at the African Cup of Nations in the years 2006, 2008 and 2010 to become the first African nation to achieve this streak/record.
