Tzigane Quartet, Brahms (SPCO Youth Chamber Music Competition)

Tzigane, a chamber music group, competes in the SPCO Youth Chamber Music Competition, playing Brahm's Piano Quartet in G Minor (Op. 25). The competition was open to pre-college instrumentalists aged 19 and under. Tzigane took 1st place in the SPCO Youth Chamber Music Competition.

Bravo! It never ceases to amaze me how young people of pre-college age can play music at this level. I just retired as a high school teacher, and I was so impressed by the jazz band at my school. I couldn't get over the fact that these were my students, who otherwise acted like normal teenagers, but could play at such professional level. I tip off my hat for them. This particular ensemble, Tzigane, is exceptionally good.

Yes, it is rather mind-blowing what teen musicians play these days. I really loved their other piece too - "Tzigane Quartet, Walton..."
