The group Mountain Blue (formerly known as Blue Cheese) is, as far as we are aware, Utahs only 100% a cappella southern gospel quartet. The band was formed in the fall of 2003 when two choir conductors from Brigham Young University got together to perform "Some Day" by Blue Highway. They searched among their musically talented friends until they felt they had formed the perfect quartet. Mountain Blue continues to perform original arrangements of foot-stompin', soul-stirrin' music for the semiannual BYU A Cappella Jam, like this show, and in venues along the Wasatch Front for crowds who know how to shout Hallelujah! They took first place and were awarded judges choice at the BYU Talent Showcase in 2006, have auditioned and performed in the last eleven consecutive BYU A Cappella Jam concerts, and have opened shows for Vocal Point and Noteworthy. Their last performance was singing the National Anthem for the BYU Men's Basketball game.
