The countdown to the Super Bowl victory just brings tears to your eyes, if you're from Pittsburgh...that was the beginning...WOW, just 34 years ago, the Steeler's dynasty began, Super Steelers...God Bless the Steeler Nation!!!
"An awesome physical team were the Steelers today." Curt Gowdy called that one precisely. What a joy it was to be a Steelers fan in the 1970s. Half of the players on those teams are in the Hall of Fame. GREATEST TEAM EVER!!!!
Nope, Cowboys racked up 48 points against them in those two losses. "Steel Curtain" my ass. Cowboys killed them in 95' but they let them sneak back into the game to make things interesting. Only thing they did right was contain Smith, but they failed to keep him out of the endzone twice.
Killed them > huh > what??? you didn't watch the game did ya. If Neil O. didn't throw the ball to your DB with no receiver in the area TWICE > The Steelers win. No Question> but it's your story > you can leave the facts out if ya want to. Don't hate on the 7 time SuperBowl Champs. SOOOOON
WHAT?!? What about finding a way to score? Takeaways? Dictating the flow of the game? Batting down Tarkenton's passes? The Steeler's defense dominated, while the Viking's defense was barely adequate. Obviously, based on your statement, the Steelers did a better job of run defense.
If the Vikings were able to run the ball as well as the Steelers, Tarkenton probably would not have been picked off 3 times. Bradshaw actually did get picked off but it was called back. The Vikings got beat soundly though I'll admit that.
The Steelers' defense dominated but to say the Viking's defense was "barely adequate" is preposterous. Yes, they gave up too much on the ground but held the Steelers' pass offense to a little over a 100 yards. Remember, the score was only 9-6 with 4-plus minutes to play. I would say the Vikings defense was more than barely adequate.

I don't think you watched the whole game.
