Iced Earths "owner" and guitarist Jon Shaffer in an Interview...
From July 2!
Topics include:
• The choice of title for the forthcoming release, "The Crucible of Man - Something Wicked Part II"
• Choir arrangements used during recording, including the vocal arrangments (chants) used at the conclusion of the song, "The Coming Curse" from 1998's' "Something Wicked This Way Comes" release
• Thoughts on re-recording songs from the back-catalog as acoustic versions
• Technical talk about mastering, volume, compression, and dynamic range
• Playing live with the new touring lineup
Thanks to Jon Shaffer and Iced Earth.com!
He is true to the art of metal. He obviously has dissected and broke it down. These dudes will never sell out! I am glad o be part of the fandom of Iced Earth. All the lamers and wannabess can listen to there lady gaga and justin goober, i am glad Iced Earth does not have fakes.

I really appreciate his views on production and compression. Removing dynamics from a song removes one of the fundamentals of music IMO.

Yeah that probably would be cool, listen to 'The Pierced Spirit' from Burnt Offerings, prob one of my fav Iced Earth songs, despite it only being about 2 minutes long (well just under).
