Another World -- Soap Opera Digest Awards 1991

1991 was a great year for awards for Another World! In addition to the four winners I've included in this clip, AW also was honored with nominations for Stephen Schnetzer as outstanding lead actor, & Tom Eplin & Carmen Duncan for outstanding villain & villainess. With the 10-minute time limit for YouTube videos, I decided to only include the actors that took home awards at this ceremony...I also included the montage & presentation for the award for outstanding love story because it featured a lot of Frankie/Cass/Kathleen clips, & because "Dean & Jenna" were the presenters.
And yes, that is Anne Heche with brown hair -- she dyed it for a while right after she left AW to be considered for different movie roles.

Why can't I find a picture of Janis Young , She played my favorite character Bernice Robinson, who tried to steal away John Ranoldph from Pat Randolph. She was there from 1969-1973. I do not know how her part ended. I am guessing she must be in her 70's now, but I use to love here.

Alla Karot (Jenna) was so over-rated in my opinion. Sure, she was pretty, and talented--but the character she played was boring and I don't think AW showcased her talents enough to warrant this award. Anne Heche, on the other hand--was phenomenal-as was Vicky/Marley Hudson.

Outstanding Love Story shouldn't have gone to Cass and Frankie, it went to the right couple who were the IT couple during that time period, which was Jack and Jennifer on Days of our Lives. They were awesome 89-91, especially 1990.

DAYS, was always winning every nomination they were catergorized in. Especially, Favorite show... That is part why there was no more awards. The other part was due to ratings and etc. Do, they even still to the vote in the magazine... DAYS was winning that to...

Actually, that Days title card was used back in the 60s and is based on the original logo (same font as the lettering of the title card, but on the show it was blue)...I'm not sure why SOD couldn't use the more current Days logo of the time.

It's too bad we don't still have the SOD Awards, but they wouldn't have AW to root for now :( :( and SOD would **have** to find a way to keep certain other shows (we all know which ones) from stuffing the ballot box....
