I had the same problem. You maybe are using the wrong V-Ribbed Belt. Several cataloges informs the wrong belt model 6PK1885 (too big) for the A4 2.8 30V. Change to the correct belt model 6PK1875 (10mm shorter). The Belt Tensioner should stay in a medium position between MIN/MAX. When the engine starts or the Air conditioner is swtiched on, the load increse on the belt, then the Belt Tensioner hits on its MAX limiter.

so def a bad cam chain tensioner lol not that it matters with a blown transmission you got other things on your plate!

@goma3 Yeah, thanks for the comment though.. I'm looking into getting a Nissan Altima.. something a little better on gas.. but I will definately miss my A6!

it seems it's one of the cam chain tensioners in one of the heads. How many miles on your car?
Did you film this on a cold day right after startup?

@goma3 155,000 Miles. It was a cold day but the engine was already warmed up. Actually I need to update my audi Videos, the transmission went out on the highway while I was driving a month ago. Not even sure if i'm keeping the car =( its an awesome car though.
