Longboard Asheville : Mellow Downhill

Mellow downhill. Asheville area longboarding. Skateboarding in the Asheville, North Carolina area takes on a new dimension with endless miles of winding mountain roads. This is different from the skateboarding you see on TV with stairs, ledges, kickflips, ollies, 10 stair treflips. Skateboarding and longboarding are against the law in Asheville so be careful and wear a helmet. All of the riders in this video are expert riders with boards and equipment. DO NOT grab your cheap (anything bought at Zumies, krown, pseudo surf-culture chinese-made crap) and head to the top of your nearest hill in flip-flops and boardshorts. You might survive a few times but sooner or later you WILL pay the price in flesh and blood. These are some shots I took in spring of 2009 and re-edited. Don't ask me for the exact location of the roads.

landyachtz rayne insect or five mile longboards r the best iv seen and sector nine is gud iv gotten up to thirty on gullwing sidewinder trucks and a off the wall 2 deck from sector nine out at tangelwood so stfu unless you know what ur talkin bout paris and randal r awesome ttrucks for this bears r better but more expensive though and i live in winston but never heard of skateing and longboarding being illegal in asheville

@lordoftheold Good to hear from you. The description is meant to discourage any novice riders from practicing downhill on our area runs. Injuries, encounters with the law and locals, and deaths are a serious threat to the locations where we ride. We want to maintain an appearance of safety in front of other road users. @ilovelarca I'm just a guy with a sony handycam and cheap editing software. The guys at Original Longboards have produced some of the best looking longboarding videos out there and many have been inspired by them. Original trucks are terrible (deadly) for this style of downhill though. If you live in a very flat region, originals will work, but you can still do better with some cheap indys, randals, or paris trucks. Don't believe the hype.

@edmiseta no that is a dog. its a little piece of shit. I almost killed it on one run. luckily i ride my trucks fairly loose so i was able to dodge it last second. i have video of it that i will have to put in a video one day
