Summer 2009 marked the beggining of the Obama administration's push for healthcare reform. Instead of sprited, yet civil discussion on the best way acheive this goal, the national dialogue was dominated by false claims, fear mongering, hate, misinformation, and down right lies. This episode of Pure Logic examines the crazines that took place and how ignorance and stupidity created a highly toxic atmosphere that ultimately puts the American people at a loss.
dang, I added more but apparently it didn't come though, oh well. In short, government creat monopolies, we shouldn't have to pay for other people's children schooling, it's wrong, I know people have to pay public schools even if they home school.
The State can fund police and fire department however the public sector has always done better, I wish I could give you the link but no go with youtube.
Lastly, the constitution doesn't give the federal government the right to give social security

America was founded on the economic principles of the "free enterprise" system. An individual is free to operate his business under the law without government intervention and regulation. The Government MUST safe-guard it citizen from harm, outside in in.
However, Government makes monopolies and make sure that they stay around with regulations, and stimulus packages. I see you've never studies economics. Same with schools, if government wasn't involved we could have school choice

...a tons of other things are socialist in nature. I guess we should turn over all of those things to the private sector. Remember when the republicans wanted invest social security into the market. How much money would've been lost then?I'm not right on all things, but your assertions aren't fool proof either. Between us, what's best lies in the middle. Thanks for a spirited debate. Take care. The current economic crisis is the direct result of too much deregulation. Where do you get that too much regulation is the problem? We have 5 companies that own everything now because of deregulation. Now its too hard for independent companies to operate because of this. In that instance regulation would've helped. Everything is case specific. Sometimes gov needs to intervene and other times it doesn't. FYI, we are already a soc. country. Pub. School, the fire dept., social security...

yoshi3329- Is it unconstitutional for the Pres. to get involved in the private sector? If it means he and/orthe gov. protects the public from fraud, abuse, and disregard then the answer is yes. Respectfully, you sound like one of those persons who would've been against child labor laws, or the FDA, or the min. wage. Do you honestly think big business would play by the rules if there weren't rules in place? There is a balance between too much gov. invovlement & letting the priv. sect. run wild...

I don't think our healthcare is fine, however, It's unconstitutional for the president to get involved in the private sect, (10th Amend), if Obama gets involved it will cost us billions/trillions of $, & reduce the standard of health care. If you studied Austrian economics you would have known that. Obviously your either a Keynesian or a socialist, either way, I'm not falling for it. Ya'll got us into this w/ over regulations and spending. It's time for the government to shrink not grow.

The facts are well known that tens of thousands of people die each year because they have no or inadequate health insurance coverage. I think you missed the point of the piece. My point was that the nation got distracted from the issues with the birther nonsense, death panels and other things when we should have been having an honest discussion. I assumeyou think our healthcare system is just fine the way it is?
Thanks for watching...Pure Logic Host

Hi yoshi3329-thanks for watching. I must disagree with you on a few points. telling people that end of life counseling (included in one the proposals) will est. death panels IS fear mongering and a lie. Insurance companies have always been the death panels because ithey decide who lives or dies when they decide to not cover a paying client when it affects their bottom line. How is that not logical? I respecfully would like to know how I am being decietful.

Wow this video, so deceitful. 1 star.
I could say again, again, why this is so misleading but I feel that it would fall on deaf ears. Just go to the reason foundation's youtube channel when it comes to economics.
And I like to know where this man studied logic. Pulling ad hominem attacks will get you nowhere, state why you believe what you believe and back it up, don't call people dummies.
Geez.
And fear-mongering isn't bad if they state the facts.
