The Brompton Bicycle is a true joy to fold. It is simple to fold and the folded bike is incredibly small.
Ed is the North American Agent for Brompton. This past summer he came to Calhoun Cycle here in Minneapolis to talk up the product with us.
After Ed's seminar we decided to have a Brompton Folding Bike competition.

  • You could be correct. I'm pretty sure that the first guy to get knocked out of the competition (Matt) gets the most miles on his Brommie.

  • Kody's fold is not very tidy. On at least one occasion, he doesn't fold the frame properly---the hook doesn't go into its clip. And he never folds the pedal. He may be fast but it's messy. I don't get the impression that he's a very regular Brompton user. Ed's fold on the other hand is really classy! It's clean and it's the fastest I've ever seen. His first fold is an unbelievable 7.7 seconds. Which is a new YouTube record, I think... Amazing!!

  • When does it make it into the Olympics?

  • are all bromptons 16inch wheels??

  • I have one myself & am loving it. I cannot get over how much fun I am having with this particular piece of technology.

  • @heaveecee On the other hand, if you look at the 2010 World champion ship results you see a couple of 1 and 2 minute folds (build time) in the top 10 ranking riders

  • I get the feeling that our finalists spend too much time enjoying their fold and less actually riding their bikes.
