Guilford Railfanning - May 8th, 2009

WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY!

I took a two-hour railfan trip to local Guilford Station during rush hour. I caught ten trains in two hours, which is about twice as busy as usual around here. I also got some terrific horn, especially from Regional 174. Please enjoy this video.

I wish they'd had a real station like that in Guilford when I was a kid. It would have made trips into New Haven a lot easier and faster. Much better than the Shoreline Bus. The trains never stopped in any of the shoreline towns back then. To go to NYC we'd have to take the bus to Union Station in New Haven and the train from there. Moved away almost 25 years ago.

They just reconstructed the station in 2005.

Amazing horn Sam!! The K5LA from 174 and the blast from the first P42 were outstanding. And what a great compilation of chugging from the genesis engines! Classic GE. Yet another extraordinary railfanning video!
