Three days after starting to blog about his experience at the G20 and with
undercover infiltration, and alleging police provocateurs, activist Julian Ichim was ordered by the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) to take down a blog post about his personal relationship with one of the
undercover cops who infiltrated community organizations across the country
in the lead up to the 2010 Olympics and the G20. It has been alleged that some undercover cops actually suggested courses of illegal activities to provoke G20 protesters to follow
For refusing to comply and keeping his blog intact, he is now facing three
charges of disobeying a court order. Ichim is the second activist to be charged for blogging about the undercover cops whose testimony was central to the prosecution of the G20
Main Conspiracy Group, of which Ichim had been a part until late 2010.
The allegation made by the OPP was that Ichim endangered the life of the undercover officer by disclosing the pseudonym the officer used.
His Dec. 13, 2011 trial was postponed until January 2012. He made it clear in court during postponement proceedings that he expects to be able to defend himself and fully describe how the system abused him and violated his rights.
