Hollow oak tree removal in Norton Shores, MI. No access for heavy equipment. The tree was leaning at the top of a steep hill. Obstacles below were a stairway, deck and stone storage shed. The tree was removed by Tom's Tree Service of Muskegon, MI. (For more information go to treetom.net) The tree was topped using a Stihl200T, 14" bar. The trunk was blocked down using a Husqvarna 372xp with a 24" bar. The large trunk cuts were made with a Husqvarna 3120xp with a 36" bar. The limbs and top trunk portions were rigged down with a 9/16" Samson bull rope, 3/4" Hobbs block and a medium Port-A-Wrap. A 3/4" Samson bull rope was used to lower the large trunk sections.

  • Nice vid. It looks like the land owner wanted some wood for a fire. How long did it take you guys to do the whole job?

  • @ohiodeerhunter21 7-8 hours to complete the job.

  • Thanks. Gotta hand it to Ron, the climber in this one; I was impressed that he hauled that Husqvarna 3120 up a tree for the trunk cuts, Wirey little fellow.
