Field recording fun for Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

A little trip OYM took to 29 Palms, CA to record some military might for the Codemaster's game "Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising". It's not ALL work, ya know!

what kind of microphones did you use to record the sounds? Can I use sounds from your SFX library?

Lots of mics were used - Neumann 191, Sennheiser 416, AKG 414, lavaliers and even the built in mics on a Zoom H2! Whatever got the job done is what we used!!

Unfortunately, the sounds we collected on this project are owned by Codemasters so we aren't able to share. Would cause a couple legal issues that I'd like to stay clear of. ;)

Did you take some weapon recordings?

We didn't record weapons for this particular game but have done it for other projects. We'll have our cameras ready for the next one, you can count on that!!

Hell yea. the Abrams and its 1500hp turbine engine along with its beyond sniper rifle accurate 120mm main gun, are untouchable.
