David Tennant and Catherine Tate-Much ado about nothing-Wyndham's 13-8-2011 2.
Much Ado About Nothing Act 2, scene 3, 62--69
At the request of the prince, Don Pedro, his attendant Balthasar sings this little tune in their host's garden. The point of the ditty—that because men will never change their ways, women should just merrily accept them as they are—is clear enough, but its relevance to the play isn't. But at least one male character, and as many as three, will come to the conclusion that women (including the chaste heroine Hero) were deceivers ever, and raise no little fuss about it. Their sounds of woe become sounds of rage, rather than "hey nonny nonny" ("what the heck").

  • Does anyone know what song this is?!

  • @X12mol It's called Sigh No More and is the album of Mumford & Sons.I never heard of them actually. The original version is not that good.

  • @linapredator I'm pretty sure the song is actually one of the monologues from the show put to music. Mumford and Sons just named their album after a shakespeare quote from much ado about nothing.

  • @benh66 yeap!you are certainly right.i checked it....i put it in the details.thank you!!!

i remember one of the characters in the play with a guitar and singing but i didn't recognised it then... :-)

  • me and my brother did the same thing, we saw it twice and filmed a bit of it. uploaded it on youtube. got over 7,000 hits on the three videos got taken down after about a week good luck though!

  • @ahobbit111 the thing i didn't like and was very dissapointed is that at the back of the theatre was a public road and everyone came for autographs and i didn't even see tennant and tate at all.so much crowd and they only came out for 5 minutes.there should be priority for those who paid to see the play.i came all along from greece to see him and have a photo!! :-(

  • I thought it was David and Catherine that sang this in the show

  • I can't believe everyone was just sitting still while watching that, it looked like a real party up there :D

  • oh tennant and his dancing... offtt!!....

when he was signing i shouted i love you david he looked up and smiled.. but it all went quiet then i did haha x

  • @linapredator Just to give you the heads up, I work in the west end and the producers of this show aren't stupid. They know what goes on and they do check this site every so often. Even for footage of shows that are finished. And your vid is pretty easy to find so when they see this or the other one you did it will be taken down. I'm not saying this to piss you off. I have seen it happen before.

  • I had a happy ending to this after all. My husband, without me knowing, sent my programme back to the theatre a few days after I saw the play, with a letter to David, saying how much I had loved the play and could he please sign my programme. It came back yesterday, dedicated to me and signed by David. What a lovely, darling man David is. And my husband too for that matter.

  • Went to see it on August 11th. And I don't know how it happened, there were a crowd and David/Catherine were already outside, but I still got through everyone and got their autographs. Now I'm reading all these comments and I understand how lucky I was. I feel sorry for you, guys, who didn't get anything.. v.v Btw, thank you for uploading this. :)

  • You star! I went this night and all I want to do is watch this whole bit over and over again. haha. :)
