Great qawalli no doubt about it. But Sattupirki Janaab I beg to differ with you, Aziz Mian is in a class of his own, a master of this art.

@bhugolprasain Certainly. They had just stepped in this field it was perhaps 1970. The name of poet is IQBAL SAFIPURI. If u wanna listen more mature version of this ghazal sung by duo in later years, pls follow the link below on youtube:

4 The voice of Maqbool Sabri really stirs n shake my soul. What a great voice. Maqbool is now dead and it may take centuries to produce another Maqbool Sabri. May Allah rest his soul in eternal peace.

@mirpur1978 Certainly no paralell. They are legends and have taken art of qawwali to skies.
-
they were young in this video and almost beginners, but we have to admit that these guys later introduced qawalli to the whole world. no one can beat them..

Tashnagi ko jinjhor daytay hain-Pee kay hum jam tor daytay hain
Faisala hum kashakushe dil ka un nigahun pay chor daytay hain
aankh mein jub nami nahin rehti-apna damun nichor laytay hain
hum tau rukh gardishe zamana ka -suay maikhana mor daytay hain
yeh haseen log sheeshae dil ko -kum nigahi say tor daytay hain
apnay paiman kay sath aai Iqbal-woh mera dil bhi tor daytay hain.
Poet: Iqbal Safipuri

can some write the lyrics please ., thanks ., in english
The thing that always strikes me about this video is the lack of percussion used by the Sabri Brothers. By the time they reached the peak of their powers, they had at least 3-4 percussonists, including that awful fellow on the pingpingping machine.

Wow! Young. Tell me, is this from a BBC program? I know they used to appear on Asian magazine programs on BBC1 and BBC2 during the 70's. I'm sure someone has a recording lying around somewhere.
