R.I.P., John Hughes (February 18, 1950 August 6, 2009)

In this clip from "Pretty in Pink" (1986), Molly Ringwald's character rebukes the [all-to-familiar!?] class-warfare rhetoric her friend Duckie (played by Jon Cryer) uses, when he tries to set up an anti-"richie" frame.

This famous film was shot in Chicago, near where it's director & writer, John Hughes (who's funeral was just five days ago) is from - and also where our new President is from.

What does "Andie Walsh" know that Barack Obama and the Dems don't?

  • I know where you're comming from but - there's something I want to say and don't jump to the conclusion that I'm defending democratic policy - the whole reason we have this problem in society is because of lack of understanding = like in this little tidbit of thought that is offered here - that we see in pretty in pink - the person used perceptive and analyitical judgment to make a good conclusion - but the problem (IN MY HUMBLE OPINION) in our current American culture is that we
