Bernie wasn't just sick Tony, he was terminally ill. Abbott wants to be PM. Where was the much touted Christian compassion ? He is a career politician hell bent on doing anything and saying anything to get into power.

Abbott has never held a regular job so what would he know about the struggles of the average person. He has little economic credibility, no plan for the future of Australia and as much sensitivity as a train smash.

This is how Abbott treats one of the bravest men I have ever met. A stunt? I saw Bernie dragging his respirator behind him months before he died from his criminally induced illness. He committed the few remaining years of his life to exposing the deceit of James Hardie, to secure justice for those who suffered with him, and to secure improvements in our workplace safety laws. This response from Abbott takes us behind the rhetorical veneer and exposes a serious deficiency in his character.
