May I present the first ever YouTube video of a non-demonstrator Nova Bus LFX in revenue service!

Enjoy a ride video onboard a Viva 2010 Nova Bus LFX, #1083, on Viva Blue, heading southbound to Finch Station. This vehicle has a Cummins ISL9 engine and a Voith D864.5 transmission.

This video was taken between Bernard Terminal and Major Mackenzie Drive.

Note the automated announcements were not functioning properly (only shows the next stop for about 100 feet, then disappears), hence why the driver was calling out stops.

  • Do you think that the automated announcer person for YRT is the same announcer they use in TransLink?

  • @GordonFreemanD40 It is the same announcer.

  • I think I see little tables in the back of the bus on each side.

  • @afj102979 Yeah that's correct. Our Van Hools have that too (bigger as well).

  • @GordonFreemanD40 You can take a look at some videos and make sure you got on a ZF powered STM LFS Artic. ;-) Let's not forget we have two types of ZF here, Ecomat and EcoLife.

  • Sounds like our Volvo B10L CNG of 2005. In fact, it is a great video!

  • @vivablue5215 OR DID I? I was on a LFS Artic in Montréal last year and it's pretty much whining like our D40LFs because of the centre axle and the transmission. But that was the first time I heard a ZF transmission since most of the buses I was on in Montréal had Allisons.

  • @GordonFreemanD40 You probably haven't heard ZF much since you're in the GTA. The third gear whining sound is definitely one of a kind.

  • @GordonFreemanD40 me too Allison transmissions sound way better than Voith and ZF transmissions to me.

  • @vivablue5215 I like Allison better. I don't know why though...
