I do a quick review and tutorial for using the Oloneo PhotoEngine HDR software demonstrating the ease and power of the HDR Tone Mapper using a 9 exposure bracket series.

  • This is the 1st time I've heard of Oloneo and it didn't take me long to see how it's just so much better than Photomatix!

  • @76ers I agree. I was a long-time Photomatix Pro user before this came out. Since then, I only use Photomatix for some very specific HDR work that I have made presets for. Otherwise, Oloneo is much easier and faster to get a "good" result from in my opinion.

  • how do you change the exposure settings if your trying to create hdr effect from a single image?

    thanks

  • @benarddor Funny you ask, I have not tried using a single image in this software. Honestly, I'm not sure it does pseudo-HDR processing from single image shots. But it does handle multi-image HDR very well in my opinion.

  • Superb tutorial for a great -- free!! -- program.

Many thanks. It is such a powerful processing tool to have in your kit bag -- and your video shows it at its best.

  • @linkbekka Thanks, I'm looking forward to the finished version of this software which I will no doubt purchase for myself.

  • Thank you for the video. I love this software. I tried photomatix but its too slow and hard to edit your photo because the buttons are everywhere. This one is well organized.

  • @stoneheart44 Currently the software is in beta testing and the download is free for the time being. (However, the beta ends in December unless they choose to extend it again.) You can download it at the Oloneo website. (The direct link is in my blog post.)

  • any download link man? is this for free?

  • @saskLS1 I don't have that information yet, nor were they able to give me an expected cost when I asked them a few months back. Their website also does not have information regarding cost yet either.
