Beethoven's sonata Waltstein Aurora played on a fortepiano, the early version of our modern piano, in fact the transition between the harpsichord and our pianoforte.
The fortepiano is tuned at 420Hz as was usually done in Beethoven's period, and not 440Hz as is mostly done actually.

  • What a shame the sound quality is SO BAD. At the beginning, all I hear is a smear. I'm sure this is a great-sounding instrument in real life though....

  • 420 play fortepianos everyday

  • Magnificent instrument. Is this a copy of Beethoven's own Graf? Thanks for posting. :-)

  • Not a very good advertisement. Sorry. Too deep and does not have a clear, crisp sound, unless it's the video quality.

  • @luomodellestelle si che è un fortepiano

  • non è un fortepiano...

  • LOVELEY sound .. I wish once a day I can play on a REAL forepiano .. it really looks like 'PLAY ME" when I see a instrument like this .. Hmm how loveley .. amazing really !!

  • C'est beau, très beau. J'aime le son du piano forte.

  • Thanks for uploading this interesting vid and performance.

Please write in your info. more information about this specific

    fortepiano.

  • @6MUDMEN That is because she chooses to play what others have written. She probably cannot compose that well. To compose and perform are two different matters, and it does not surprise me in the slightest that she chooses to not compose. Also, try to spell and write correctly...it is a bit more becoming.

  • This instrument sounds much more organic then any other piano's I've ever heard.

I wonder how loud this one is compared to a modern metal framed piano.
