Khon dance - Thailand Week 2009

2009/03/22 a free entry show in Taipei City hall, This performance is called " khon" or Thai masked dance. This maked dance is an episode taken from the great epic called "Ramakien " or " Ramayana ". The story is about the battle between the great king, " Rama", who is a reincarnation of deity or god, and the demon king named " Tosakanth " The army of Rama comprises of monkeys with " Hanuman", the wite monkey , as their leader. In this scene, Rama, his brother " Laksamon " and Hanuman are united together to defeat "Tosakanth ".泰國的面具舞蹈稱為 khon, 本單元描述一齣印度神話 Ramakien 故事, 代表正義的拉瑪王子和其弟斯拉門的軍隊是由哈努嫚猴王帶表與代表非正義的甘夜叉作戰.

hahaha...hanumarn nearly got hit by one of totsakan's soldiers..he just about dodged it....great performance!...the monkey had a lot of charisma and flair.
