In Richmond, CA, an old railroad track was removed and residents joined with the city and a group of non-profits to create a community parkway, featuring safe passage through the city, gathering spaces, community gardens, and recreation areas. The citizens of Richmond are working on this space as though it were their own "backyard". Watch the work, the celebrations, and the growth in community efforts through the eyes of the teen media crew, The Green Screen Team. Originally sponsored by EarthTeam, the Green Screen is now focused entirely on the Richmond area and is sponsored by Groundwork Richmond. Producer Lana Husser and editor Douglas Scott, led the team of teen reporters, videographers and editors of The Green Screen through 4 years of learning video skills as they worked together on The Greenway.
