I HATE using pads! I've never tried using a tampon before...is it really uncomfortable the first time? Btw I'm only 17..

@iMbAlLiNbejealouss12 17 is never too late to start using tampons. I've been using them since I was 13. It's not uncomfortable if you insert it right. Just make sure you put it in at an angle. IF it is uncomfortable the first time, keep trying during the rest of your period. I suggest using U by Kotex for the first time. Regulars are comfortable to me, but you can use lights if you want. @crazygalz4ever I started using them at 13. I'm SOOOO happy I did. They are so much better than pads. Pads are gross. Whenever I have to use pads, they feel warm, wet, and gross!!! Trust me, tampons are great. Even though they sound gross...

@exohCookieMonstahexo You can try using light tampons. I suggest UbyKotex, they are really small and go in really well! You can't even feel them :) Buy tampons with applicators, trust me. You can do it! Tampons are sooo great! Good luck!

@springbunny321 I know that... Just saying that most girls usually have their periods at/before age 15. Not saying they all do, but most do. At school, all the girls I know started before high school. And to me, 9-11 sounds early for a period. But, it's always possible.

@xxch3lxx Thats my fear too! I was talking to my sister and she said it happened to her and she said you just reach up and grab it. Thats mostly the case, but the worst case scenario is its either too far up where you can't reach it, or its too painful to grab. Thats when its time to tell your mom or the nearest adult and you should go to the hospital. But DONT WORRY!!!!!!!!! It rarely happens. I hope that helps and I hope I didn't scare you!

@GirlsandGrowingUp 12-15 is the most common, but its average for girls to start anywhere from age 9-16. Hope it helps! =)
