  • Jeffrey, I've never combined my two bags. I carry them both separate. You're right about European airlines being much stricter. This bag combo, however, seems to do the trick!

  • Great video; considering this bag for my upcoming travel since some European flights recently made me check my small wheeled luggage.

Do you ever put your Metro into the Air Boss, or do you carry them both onto the plane? I know this will be fine in the US, but in Europe they seem a bit stricter with carry-ons, even through security, at times, with the limits.

  • @jeffreykeefer I never put my metro in the Air Boss, I know people have done that. I fly internationally, Europe and Asia. I've never been told to check either bag. In fact, the Air Boss is so "duffle bag" like that most airlines don't take a second look at it. Because it's soft sided most air crew just let me stuff it overhead. It seems most air crews are on the lookout for wheelie luggage....

  • Ben, nice video. I've been considering purchasing an Air Boss. I like the black, but don't like the standard red Red Oxx patches that come on it. In the video, yours look black. Was that a special order or something you modified after you got it?

  • @ID0528 No special order, it still has the red Red Oxx patch.

  • H Ben,

this is great info. i also do my own laundry when i travel.

    some questions:

    (1) do you use two of these red oxx bags when you travel? If not, what is the other bag you use?

    (2) are there a pull and wheels with the bag (o didn't notice wheels)

    (3) do you know the model of jc penny sports jacket? i assume it is non cotton.

    thanks again,

    earon

  • @etmon5 Hi Earon. I use two Red Oxx bags. The Air Boss and the Metro briefcase. I thought about buying the CPA briefcase but that would be "too much" bag for me.

The Air Boss has neither a handle or wheels. It's strictly a shoulder bag, which actually offers the most room. If you go to the JC Penney website and search for the term Hopsack Wool Blazer you should get the option to buy the $89 version. They are cut small & I suggest buying one size larger than you usually wear.

  • Do you think the color of your bag, all black, has anything to do with your never being asked to check it? If you over stuff an all black bag, I would think it would be less apparent than if the, say, red and black bag were over stuffed. See the Jim Markel Air Boss video to see what I mean. His bag appears to me to be over stuffed and thus might draw attention.

  • The color is navy.

  • @kmurry I believe I am using the 18 inch Eagle Creek folders. I can usually get three pair of dress slacks and 4 or 5 dress shirts and sport shirts in it. I am actually just returning from a trip to the Arctic and have several pairs of cotton khaki pants, 4 dress shirts, and an over coat stuff in the folder. The Air Boss handles it perfectly.

  • Hi Ben

Thanks for posting this video. What size Eagle Creek Folder have you got in there? It looks fairly big, but I thought the 20" was too big for the air boss.
