You should do the Tiree Love song. Good video man sounds great keep it up.

Reluctantly agree with this; I feel the song does lack something important if the clear rhythm isn't coming through, for the reason given above. Still, a beautiful rendition nonetheless.

you have a fine voice sir, but this is clearly a sea chanty that you've sapped all the chantiness out of.
It's a beautiful melody, but the boat song is traditionally used to keep a ship's crew in rhythm during tasks, and i feel that that aspect of the song should not be lost

This is actually not a traditional song. Anyway, splendid job.

I agree that it is played faster by bands such as the Corries but I prefer this version over theirs because this version has put an unusal tempo onto the song making it more of a song that sounds like a slow set finisher rather than the faster tempo we are used to which makes the song more of a middle-of-the-set song and this version is imbued with more passion than any other i have heard

True....It is a different tempo from usual for this song. BUT, I reckon it's absolutely bloody terrific. My favorite rendition of this song I've ever heard. Proper good stuff mate!!

been browsing your vids you are very talented but on this one i agree with justdobbs i think the tempo is all wrong as its a shanty to signify a crew pulling together at the oars/sails. that said im very impressed with your work and no doubt we will hear more from you on this side of the puddle.all the best bud keep it up .

aBoVe all... carpe diem'
I think the tempo is a little off at times, but you've got a really lovely voice and it's still one of the better versions of this song up here. In response to those who claim this as a shanty used for keeping the rhythm whilst working, I can't imagine that it was ever used that way. First of all, though based the traditional song called Creag Guanach, this version was written by Hugh S. Thompson in 1938. Secondly, it's in triple metre, which isn't really a very good metre to work to. Cheers.

A boat song isn't the same as a sea chanty. These songs were sung by Scottish fishing crews returning home, and were not meant, like sea chanties (which are normally in reel time) for rhythmic tasks.
