Thuggery at the NY First Departmental Disciplinary Committee

The First Departmental Disciplinary Committee (DDC) is the body that is set up to investigate discipline bad lawyers in New York State. William Galisn filed a complaint three years ago against Leon Friedman esq (head of Civil Rights law at Hofstra University) . He has written nearly twenty letters over the past three years trying to determine the status of the complaint and have never received an answer. To this day no action has been taken. This is typical of the DDC's pattern of whitewashing complaints, that allows lawyers to break ethical and criminal laws and cause inestimable damage to many citizens like Mr. Galison. In this video Mr. Galison is told by a hulking DDC employee (who refuses to give his name) that he must make his requests for information in writing. Galison responds that he has written for years and has never received a response. The thug will not tell Galison when an answer will be sent, and repeats, "you're done, Mr. Galison". He falsely tells Galison that filming is illegal, calls Galisn a "security threat" and threatens to call security, but never does, because Galison does nothing wrong.

In addition to destroying countless lives this DDC corruption has enabled the crooked dealings that has resulted in the global financial crisis. It also results in lawyers being the most despised and least trusted professional group in the country.

This scene is the tip of an iceberg of corruption that goes at least to Presiding Appellate Judge Lippman, if not up to Judge Kaye. It turns out that Friedman's partner Gerald B Lefcourt is on the Commission for Judicial Nomination- the group that nominated Lippman to replace Kaye,

Lippman, of course appointed the heads of the DDC, Allan Friedberg and Roy Reardon.

The complaints against Friedman include destruction of evidence, perjury, and a dozen ethical infractions.

If this guy is a lawyer and he tells you that filming is legal, he's in violation of the code of ethics, 'cause it ain't. But I guess there's no place to report him, since he works at the DDC? What fucking mess. If you;re a lawyer and you get on the wrong side of these dicks, they will destroy you, but they protect their "own". Its a racket. I think you may have meant to say that filming IS LEGAL, 'cause it IS! This fellow says he's not a lawyer, so perhaps he has the right to be wrong. But it seems to me that if he is the "public face" of the DDC, he should get his info straight. I don't think its legal for a public official to withhold his name, either. As far as I can see, he's a heavy, hired to bully people.

If I hadn't had my camera, they would have accused me of doing something illegal, and may have physically attacked me.  These are thugs who missed their calling in Mussolini's Italy or Hitler's Germany. How sad that the receptionists are so intimidated. Cheryl is a sweet woman, but she is forced to be a part of this criminal enterprise. Be assured, however, change is coming in a BIG way, and these thugs will be held to account.

Not only CAN I - I DID, and WILL AGAIN. What I documented was a CRIME being committed (Official Misconduct). Taping public servants in a public place is legal and catching them commit a crime is a public duty.

Would it have been wrong for Abner Luima to have filmed his sodomy by NYPD police? I didn't think so.

The NY DDC routinely "whitewashes" and dismisses complaints against mainstream white/powerful Attorneys, while hammering the hell out of minority/powerless/"new immigrant" Attorneys in New York. There is a major double standard in this "DDC Mafia" - if you are brown and an Attorney, they will nail you to the wall on a cross, but if you are white and powerful, or politically connected, you can do anything and get away with anything - they won't even open up a case docket against you.

this is one of the many reason why New York State is screwed up. You have Gov't Employees that won't do their jobs, and can't be fired cuz of the Civil Service Employee Union. And when the corrupiton gets thick, all they do is stone wall. Luvley, Thank you for sharing, but if you think that I am a loser for fighting these thugs, you have no understanding of the situation at all. The corruption at the DDC is being investigated by the FBI and a Congressional subcommittee. It is a travesty that harms every citizen of New York State and others. By the end of next year you will see arrests and incarceration. Then it will be clear who the losers are.

Get an education.
