Touhou 13 Theory

Yeah, so this is my theory.
It's not a terribly awesome one, but I like it.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see another Phantasmagoria Touhou game - I mean, Aya got a second Bunkachou game (Double Spoiler), why can't there be a new Phantasmagoria?

Anybody else think I should upload this to a Touhou message board site?

He's probably taking his time because he has a job.


[EDIT: 28/02/2011 @ 7:34am GMT] It has been officially announced that Touhou 13 will not be a Phantasmagoria game.
It is called 10 Desires and a demo will be released in Reiteisai 8 (March 2011).
It features four playable characters - Reimu, Marisa, Sanae and Youmu.
I guess my theory is just a load of rubbish now, isn't it?
Either ZUN's an epic troll, or we all read too deeply into the games.
All that matters to me is that this will be the first game I actually purchase, rather than download for free.

[EDIT: 20/04/2011 @ 23:46pm GMT] I have an inkling that the spirit who leaves fate to the dream of eternity may be in Touhou 13. Yuyuko (who is the first boss of the game) mentions something about the "Fleeting thoughts, born from the prayers of humans." and she wagers that "some troublesome individual will make a return."
As much as I try to tell myself that what I've read may not be an accurate translation...

Secondly, the game's already been announced. It is called Ten Desires. The demo is available now.

Thirdly, I'd like to see you draw better than ZUN. Actually, I'd like to see you come up with something touhou-level popular out of nothing by yourself.

@LOZFFVII Actually, a lot of the music is based on other music too. And the gameplay has existed in overall in lots of other games before it too.

It is however true that Touhou itself didn't exist before. But it has been created by lending lots of pieces from many different places. Not saying that is a bad thing though.

What I meant by 'out of nothing' was that he built the gameplay, the self-contained story and the music out of nothing.

To put it simply: Touhou didn't exist before ZUN came along. Therefore, he created Touhou 'out of nothing'.

Yes, I know that's not the sense of suck that you meant. I just get frustrated that the Touhou fanbase cares so much about the story when it's really quite inconsequential and formulaic.

5. Reimu's been the main character of the series since HRtP, and Marisa's awesome. At least ZUN doesn't make it Reimu, Sakuya, and Marisa EVERY FUCKING TIME.

So anyway, I'd like to see just how your thought was working on that.
