I personally like a sim with more options than less, if there are complaints about complexity, there's always settings to make it simpler, but never take away the extra sophisticated options. As a developer, more options=more possibilities!

The vast majority of SL users toy around with the building tools but never get serious enough to build anything of value, choosing instead to buy ready made content. I think some level of quality screening of the content creation will ensure a world more like RL and allow for a easier entry for new/noob users.

Ya that's a good point, you might be right considering it is running on a much more demanding engine.

Yeah but in advertisements for SL, it looks like it runs perfect as well, get inworld and the rezzing and lagging take over. I imagine Blue Mars will be just as annoying...

yes, its variable ow its going to be creating content really. Users look like they might be able to at some point but the tools wont be as simplified as SL.... The developer status isnt really clear how open it will be. And the whole having to pay them thing and the demanding system this game will require. they have admitted to building it for default tech in like 4-5 years or so... We'll see what develops. We need more competition for SL but i'm not sure this will be it...

i agree that it wont replace sl due to the users not being able to make their own creations. howeveri have applied for creator status and if i can do it i will be far more interested

you should apply too if it interests you to create. i love sl but the lack of concern LL has for its residents makes me will to turn my back on them first opp i have

I'd switch to if it werent for the whole not able to do anything yourself type dael. You can go shopping but its not made by other residents its just made by content providers that make stuff for like Poser and the like... No real excitement or randomness. Shame really cuz there is Potential but it wont be anything more then a Social game with some mini games tossed in here and there from what i've seen so far...
