Police released the identity of a woman who was stabbed to death in Hempstead during the weekend. Sadenia Winston, 19, of Hempstead, had been fighting Saturday with Tanisha Floyd in front of Floyd's home at 207 Long Beach Rd., police said. Around 12:40 a.m., police said, Floyd, 20, stabbed Winston with a knife. Winston was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, where she was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m., police said. Floyd was arraigned on one charge of second-degree murder yesterday at First District Court in Hempstead and ordered held on $150,000 bond or $75,000 cash bail.

im from hempstead but i moved in 2005 but even while i was there i seen hempstead moving down this road i was in the 8th grade then at a.b.g.s with the people i hung with like shyrone theo suga bear keem and them it was gettin worse then with all these gang wars but thats not the point its about this young lady that lost her life over nothing i didnt even know her and right now i feel deeply effected by thos like i knew her. god bless her and her family.. hempstead we need to get it together man

This story touches me for so many reasons. I'm raising my daughter & this scares me 2 no end. I pray peace over her family, especially her son. I am currently setting up a mentor program 4 young women in my city & I would like to know if anyone in her family would allow me to use her story as one of several models. Sadenai's story needs 2 be told.
