  • Can you send me a prefab?

    I am making a manhunt mod for HL2 and I need a thirdperson shoulder view of the player.

    The mod is all about stealthing to kill enemies.

  • @SIMONSAWESOME Unfortunately I no longer have the prefab, this was from a year ago and i've done many formats and many computer upgrades since then :p

  • @ToXXic2753 Ah yes the weapon does do damage it uses an invisible laser that is also parented to the guns position and goes infront of the player it also has a limited range and doesnt shoot through walls :D though if i were to recreate this again i would do it a lot differantly and hopefully clean it up a lot more

  • @tomdboss I know the basics ;D (I'm making also a 3rd person mini-campaign-thingo) and I allready hocked up the movement etc. otherwise I wouldn't know that you have to unbind a and d (strafe keys) because theres not a good animation for strafing. sv_cheats is also not a problem... also I want to know if the gun makes REAL damage ;D I think about just making a survival horror 3rd person campaign without any weapons... but it would be much cooler with weapons :D

  • @ToXXic2753 oh and the reason for the sv_cheats is because you cant use ent_fire without cheats if this doesnt help in anyway i may attempt to make a tutorial video on how i did this, though i would have to mock it up all again as most of my tests tend to never get completed and i just leave them to rot and then remove the bsp's and whatnot but ill have a look to see if i still have them etc

  • @ToXXic2753 Thing is im no good at coding and what not so this mod had SV_CHEATS 1 on all the time ofcourse you cant just go *this can make people cheat tho* cus people could just type in sv_cheats 1 anyway :P well anyway onto the main part,

    i have a CFG that responds to the map itself for example bind mouse1 +shoot

    +shoot being an alias that would trigger of an entity with ent_fire shoot

    inside the entity would trigger an animation on the player *a prop_dynamic with a citizen model*
