Solar Energy Panels For Home Use

One of the great things about the advancement of technology is that things that were very expensive in the past are now quite affordable. Solar Energy panels for home use are a perfect example of that. Solar panels used to be expensive to buy, but now the price is low enough that more and more people are considering taking advantage of this alternative form of energy.

If you're a newcomer to the world of solar electrical systems you may be wondering exactly how solar energy panels work, and how it is possible to convert sunlight into electricity. While the science behind it all is complicated, the process itself is amazingly simple.

What is commonly known as solar panels are "photovoltaic" panels. It is a fancy word that means electricity from light. Plates within the panels are coated with a substance that reacts with the light that is collected on them. When light strikes these plates protons are released. These protons displace neutrons. This process creates a flow of electrons. An inverter in the system converts the electricity to direct current (DC), which makes it safe for use in your home.

The electricity that is created in a solar electric system is useable in virtually any application in and around your house. You could use it to run your lights, power your tools, operate your radio and television, or any other task that requires electricity.

So, what happens when the sun goes down and your photovoltaic panels aren't creating electricity? When that happens you have a couple of choices; you can either switch back to using the power from your electric company, or you can get a storage system that uses batteries to continue supplying your electrical needs.

When your system is operating and producing electricity, a portion of that electricity is diverted to your storage system. This keeps the batteries charged and ready to use. When your systems stops producing what you need, the storage system kicks in and supplies what you need.

Solar energy panels are becoming fairly easy to find. Chances are you will be able to find a supplier close to where you live. If not, the internet is a valuable resource for finding suppliers, and for shopping for the lowest rates.

Solar energy panels for home use are safe and easy to work with. Once you understand the basics of what they are and how they work you are well on your way to breaking your dependence on fossil fuels for your electrical needs. You can start to take advantage of free energy from the sun, and you can start reducing your monthly energy bill.

  • Come on you guys this vid is a vacuous use of Utube ..... showing us more lame photos ... with your tag line in the corner ...the lameness rubs off . Tell us something, the output of the units you show, estimated outputs , both peak & actual ... 'cos these systems have been up for some time so you can give us real figures & we know panel cost are falling so enthuse don't just lame us out with this banality. Have the courage of your convictions, more information not sales platitudes.

  • @EarthEasyEnergy i think he means that solar panels are not free, it would take a while to get your money back in solar panels

  • @EarthEasyEnergy ; non sequitur.
