Maria Callas: Today interview with Barbara Walters (New York, April 15, 1974) NBC, at Stanhope Hotel Catalogue: MC-VID-092 www.mariacallasmuseum.org www.mariacallasmuseum.org
To Athena I celebrate the powers of Pallas Athena, the protectress of the city: Dread, as Ares, She busies herself with the works of war, With the sack of cities, with the battle-cry and with the combats. It is She also who saves the fighters that go to war and come back alive. Hail, Goddess, give us good fortune and happiness!
I'd highly disagree. I think her questioning regarding Onassis and Jackie O is extremely tactless. It clearly agitated her and for such a delicate soul, answering those types of intrusive and abusive questions must have been extremely tough. I can just see it from her face and voice. And Barbara clearly knew what she was doing here. You do not ask these types of questions to such a legend and be this pushy about it.
Mike Wallace can learn a great deal for the skillful questioning and presence of Barbara Walters. Mike Wallace gave a presence of a rude gossiping school boy. While Barbara and mike Wallace questioning were similar; but without a question the intent was different.

La Callas is clearly disconcerted here.
