Fallout 3 Side Quests - Oasis part1of2

Harold, a special FEV mutant from Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 (one of the few characters to appear in all three Fallouts along with Dogmeat) with a tree on his head which he called Bob, eventually found himself overwhelmed by it and became rooted to the ground during his travels in the Capital Wasteland region. Here he was discovered by several people who began to worship him as a god, and a small and exclusive cult known as the Treeminders began to form in secrecy. Bob began to blossom and many plants grew in this area, which became green with life, a stark contrast to the outer wasteland.

NOTES:
- To obtain the achievement/trophy for this quest as soon as possible, while at the same time not angering the people of Oasis, save after entering The Grove. At that point, simply attack Harold with a fire-based weapon. When the achievement or trophy unlocks, you may reload the save. Note the quest will still be incomplete if no further action is taken.
- Before speaking with Harold, burning him then attempting to interact results in a message saying "The talking tree has been killed." However, after speaking with him, do so will result in a message saying "Harold can no longer speak to you."
- If the Treeminders are angered through dialogue, the only way to complete the quest will be to burn Harold. Similarily, if the Treeminders become hostile for any reason, burning Harold will again be the only way to complete the quest. He will also refuse to speak with the player if the town is hostile.
- The caves can be accessed before undergoing the ritual (100 Lockpick required), but the path to the heart will be blocked by roots.
- The image of Harold burning may show up in the ending if that route is taken.
- For some reason the Burnmaster is not considered a fire weapon by the game and will not burn Harold.

@cdolorne In fallout 1, there was a man named Master. He fell into a pile of vats just like Harold did. Harold and "The Master" were partners in war, and were stationed at Mariposa Military Base, Harold and "The Master" both fell into the FEV vats, they got separated. Its all on the fallout wiki, actually really interesting.

you know this tree Harold is actually an easter egg, in fallout 1, the final boss "Master" and his friend Harold were submerged in the FEV vats.

@thekilljoy509 theres a easy way to find him look for 2 wastelanders they will be together i think its random but just try to talk to every wastelander you find just talk to them if you do the first option youll get the map marker but they will attack you dont attempt to hurt them inless you have good guns ect the trip is far and long so gear up and get a follower
