This is the first song of the album "Prometheus: The Discipline Of Fire And Demise" recorded by Emperor in the year of 2001. Here are the lyrics:
... and after years in dark tunnels
he came to silence

there was nothing...

he realised that the cheering cries of worship
were but echoes of his harsh outspoken word
reflecting back at him from cold and naked walls
in hollow circles fled illusions of wisdom he had heard

"From nothing came all I ever knew"

and he beheld the ruins
of an empire torn apart
yet, no grief nor rage did bind him
just silent and bewildered
by the emptiness
he stumbled off his throne

suddenly, the walls around him cracked wide open
and an endless void appeared in flickering, grey light
"What force, but silence, has deprived me of my coil?

No trail to guide me. No point of reference in sight."

"By nothing, resurrection will be pure."

and he beheld the ruins
of an empire torn apart
wiping dust off his shoulders
just silent now
in this emptiness
leaving all behind

step by step
past all past
slowly he approached the surface
nothing left
to sacrifice
the mirrors mocked him on the way

  • Here's the problem with a lot (not all!) metal-heads: they are incredibly stupid and narrow minded about genres and all that shit.

However, metal will always rule - I mean, just listen to it. No matter how stupid some of the fans are. Emporer is about as good as it gets. Phenomenal, every record. This post is just about all the discussions about genre, what real metal is, rejecting certain styles, arguing, all that crap.Who cares? Listen to what you like and STFU

  • No, the genre is dying because of egotistical and closed minded fucks who refuse to legitimately talented artists because they aren't "kvlt" because they didn't record their album on an answering machine.

  • @401Nero Yeah, your right. Went here expecting something different. Certain mentalities just piss me off. But that is why there are so many colors on the palate. I have a better message to convey than that of a condescending snot. Thanx for the reality check.

  • @brwnhornet59 Then...Why goin' to a metal video? I mean, I sub your channel and am a great fan of your jazz videos, but wasn't really expecting this childish and condescendent behaviour from you. I think you are better than this.

  • Almost liked the first 30 seconds

  • @401Nero Yup, every time I hear crap like this being worshiped and glorified.

  • @brwnhornet59 Are you sick or something?

  • I think I am going to puke now.

  • @Jayuhksawn bands like Deathspell Omega and Keep of Kalessin?

  • prometheus is diffrent and especially album but i like such experiments. Although the most athmospheric and mysticism album is ,,In the nightside Eclipse". I listening Emperor for 7 years, i am 22 years old.
