This video was taken from inside the NASA Lunar Electric Rover. While working at NASA during the summer of 2009, I wandered over to the Johnson Space Center rock yard. Engineers were testing the vehicle and offered me a ride. It was an opportunity to pick an engineer's brain for a few minutes and get a neat ride. I will use some of the vehicle electronics concepts for a UNC Charlotte and NASA-sponsored senior design (capstone) project (visit my research webpage at http://www.coe.uncc.edu/~jmconrad).
The driver rode through several of the rock yard terrain, including mini-craters and up a small hill. He demonstrated the ability of the vehicle to move forward and sideways.
This was truly a ride of a lifetime!
hehe, no. I mean, I have trouble believing that they'll ever take it to the Moon.

That's a great vehicle. I have trouble believing it will ever fly though.
