To those debating tounges: the Bible refers to the tounges as the people hearing it in each of thier languages. Also shown by the Bible, though, is that IF tounges are spoken in and truly GOD sent, there will ALWAYS be someone to interpret what the speaker is saying.

@punkchic4christ i agree with you.totally. I was wondering where @courtneywhitlock got the notion that it was a language on earth, which in some sense it is but i guess you can consider it a language that no one knows what "exactly" they are saying but know that they are praising God aha.

@forCHRISTJESUS14 Read 1st Corinthians 12 and Acts 2. Speaking in tongues is a spiritual gift, and first shows up in the bible in Acts when the gospel is being communicated.

@courtneywhitlock The first time tongues were brought into play in this world were better shown in the book of Acts and were promised by Jesus through the Holy Spirit, who is part of God. The tongues are heavenly language no person in this world can decyfer them except for God. They are a different form of worshiping God and not knowing what your saying aha, but you know that it is all for the glory of God. so tongues are not earthly but Heavenly, of God.
