This simulation of normal adult walking for 10 gait cycles enables researchers to conduct step-to-step analyses of human walking. The methods used to generate this simulation can be used to simulate other long-duration movements such as walk-to-run transitions.

    simtk . org / project / xml / downloads . xml?group_id=95

  • Give the dude some arms!

  • @tjakal ah ok thank you :P wow it took 4 months before I got an answer :O

  • @thepianoaddict Because IRL the simulation would not stay upright. It would need constant input about it's balance and exact miniscule correction from the muscles. In the computer you know or even decide these values. In the physical world you need to figure them out by sensors that meassure actual forces, process the information and make correct decisions, it's tricky, delicate and amazingly hard. But it'll get there eventully. Will probably take quite a while though.

  • question: if they can make simulations like this, why don't they make a robot the exact same size as a human and make it walk the same as the sceleton in this simulation? I mean it would be way better then the asimo robot.

  • Great video. All of the accurate muscles involved for walking. Excellent.

  • Este video lo elaboraste con Visual3D?
