Don K Reed Jingles 1

A jingle and a song written and dedicated to Don K. Reed of WCBS-FM 101.1 Radio New York City. Don is a great DJ and The King of Doo Wops, he is missed by all those who listened in THE DOO WOP SHOP on Sunday nights from 7pm to Midnight. Don presented many performers as a special treat at 11pm. He did
a great service to an Amercian culture keeping Doo Wop Music alive...the sound continues cause....DOO WOPS ARE FOREVER!

I loved the jingles for Don K's show. I remember one Streetheart did for him back in the late '90s, which went something like this "Don K. Reed on CBS-FM, he plays your favorite oldies, the songs from way back when, listen to the music and you'll get a guarantee, you'll love the Doo Wop Shop, you'll love the oldies and the goodies on the Doo Wop Shop!". I also remember one Harry Hepcat that went something like "Don K, Don K won't you play a song for me". Great times.

@OldSchoolSoapFan ...Hi and thanks for your comment. Yes, Sunday nights with Don K. in the Doo Wop Shop was the best radio going. I had the very first jingle with "WHOA WHAT YOU DO TO ME DON K. REED" So many more great jingles followed.

I was 8 yrs. old ,it was the summer of 1978, i had a little radio I heard A song !!! I liked the sound (had no idea it was doowop or it was old) but i kept listening and every song had a similar sound , i from then on I was hooked , but that night i was listening to the doowop shop with don K reed. (it's his fault !!!!)lol) t . and wow i'll be 40 yrs.old in June and I still here new songs , it never ends thanks DON ! ....Erik vonderlieth

I always loved hearing these jingles, and listening to Don K. Reed's "Doo Wop Shop". I recorded many of his shows on cassette, and definitely do believe CBS-FM erred in taking him off the air.

Hi, yeah me too, I taped many Doo Wop Shop Sunday night shows. They were great shows with interviews with live groups and Don had the best DJ voice of all radio...he is missed at my house!!
