A classic routine from an innovative duo, Shields and Yarnell. Robert Shields and Lorene Yarnell perform in a rare television clip as two toy marionettes trying to bond. Unique and heart-warming.

  • These two got MANY people into bottin back in the day. Their routines were inventive, hilarious and given the time frame unique. Its easy to scream on these vids when viewing them through a new millenium lens.

  • Perhaps hell is reserved for those whose first instinct is to make a boring (not to mention unimaginative) negative comment about something they don't get (or can't grasp). Enjoy your vomiting.

  • Oh my God, I totally remember them now, and especially on the Wonder Woman episode they were on:) I had no idea Lorene was no longer w/us. Her talent will live on forever and she will always be missed.

  • i think it was a joke

  • I wonder if this routine was at all inspired by the toy makers gift scene from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

No worries pal! You make a good point; there are a lot of dumb comments made on Youtube. it is hard to tell sometimes! lol

  • @Caniswalensis Sorry for the misunderstanding then. But i heard so many stupid things from people and they weren't even joking that it's hard to tell the difference.

  • @AkosM

    lol!

I was making what I thought was a completely obvious joke. Really now, c'mon!

Why else would anyone refer to dancers as a "special effect?" It's a clear referance to sci-fi & horror movies that do a bad job of flying things on wires.

Next time, take your own advice! ;-)

  • @Caniswalensis

You can see the wires cause they were imitating marionettes which are controlled by wires. Next time think before you talk.

  • first micheal jackson, now lorene -

what the hell's goin on people???!!!

  • My God, how trite. Those two were probably the most annoying duo on 70s television and that's saying a lot!

  • I remember Robert showing us how to do robot moves when we were kids living across the street from them back in the early 80's. I just read in the paper today about Lorene's passing, and it's got me remembering those times. She was so nice to us. They both were. They had a big collection of old-fashioned toys. I thought that was so awesome.
