External values, internal goals
Flux and transition: things are upside down this year, but different from the
past. The majority of us are not dwelling on the change, saying 'poor me' or
'what a crazy world'. We note the movement of life, the world, and ourselves
within it, and move forward. We're growing up. The closest term that comes to
mind here is 'synchronicity', of system and self.
It will affect all aspects of our lives, this growth. We're seeing with new eyes;
how we perceive our bodies will shift, so too will our identities. As integrated
rather than separate, we come to see our place among the greater whole that
is the world/universe system. 'Bad' experiences are noted and words spoken to
the parties involved. "This massage wasn't up to your usual standards of
quality. I thought you would like to know," or "This relationship isn't what I
want, so I'm going to leave it." These are not said with rancor or happiness.
We simply express what we perceive, to share the information and then it
leaves our minds.
A new philosophy is developing, taking as foundation a basic place on which to
stand to view ourselves and the world around us. We will use this place to
determine the 'morals' and 'values' to live by, after in fact interrogating these
terms as ruthlessly as the rest of our assumptions about the world.
Standing on a bit of earth that is solid, we see that the world is the same as it
always was, but it isn't. Rather things are slightly different; it's an altered story
line. We use the same things to navigate our world, like cars or public
transport, but instead of petrol these vehicles use hydrogen. Materialism has
died (†2015† R.I.P) though we still shop for food, clothes and other goods.
And that's part of the disconnect with what is going on: the shifts are dramatic
but subtle. We fit within a new way of doing things, a new reality, but it feels
foreign in its newness, like asking someone living in three dimensions how it
would feel to live in seven. That is impossible to comprehend, or explicate.
A person from the life that was before might call this year 'grotesque' or 'postapocalyptic'.
But for those putting themselves through this transformation,
they just want to play; they don't label or judge what is happening, except
insofar as it fits with their inner goals. Get on with what is, this moment now.
Living is like playing a video game, taking part in Second Life to them.
Activities like palm-reading, tarot-cards, the I-Ching, horoscopes and
'personality-profiles' occupy a place in our 'free' time. The spiritual awareness
has found a solid foundation in our society. We learn to draw objects and
intentions nearer to ourselves -- like a magnet to metal -- by restraining the
mind, and flowing with what is. Effortlessly we achieve our goals and desires,
leaving stupid convictions and dull relationships behind.
From this vantage point, we seek affection, love and comfort of the inner self,
not to avoid or run from things, but to expand the experiences of now. We
move forward from this perspective with responsibility. If you work in a job
that seems like a treadmill to someone else, it certainly won't seem that way
for you, because you've chosen it. We're more discriminating, discern flow and
not flow, and use it in our relationships with each other. There is no one other
to blame for 'wrongness' than us—and not even us actually; nothing can be
wrong! When someone says, "I hate this job!" the people around them suggest
they dump it, and 'get real'.
Dumped as ill fitting is also outside authority. Churches of religions have
transformed as their congregations have done so. Spiritual books like the Bible
have been rewritten, based on core truths. The way of leading people in a
certain direction, protecting personal interests and ulterior motives of
conservatism has been buried (R.I.P.). The cover of the Bible, for example,
now contains a mirror -- for self-reflection. Philosophy for Dummies is a
tremendously popular bestselling book, as more and more of us take time to
spend with ourselves, and ask ourselves hard questions. The kitsch of the
plastic Jesus or Buddha become commonplace, and for the majority the
underlying subtext grows more significant, and they choose to invest in items
that represent the preciousness of their internal search.
Here we are, picking our moments like precious flowers. We feel the need for
the flower on our yourney, and so we pluck it from the earth. The question of
whether or not to pick the flower -- will it lead to destruction of the species? Is
it moral or ethical? -- is immaterial because it feels right, and we trust in that
feeling. http://WWW.TRENDSLATER.COM
