How do they pick the shows for the 'network ratings year launch' promos like this memorable Network 10 one? (Even if we had to rip off 'CBS Get Ready' for that one)

The Simpsons is probarly why the network is still around - without it, they'd have little to show between 6pm and 8:30pm.

I wish the USA would stop stealing the rest of the worlds (UK and Australia) television show ideas such as coupling (no it is not a version of friends if it was would the US have made one?) the office and now Kirstie Alley is starring in a version of the Vicar of Dibley (The Minister of Divine) and they are going to make their own version of OUR Kath and Kim. AAAAHHH come up with your own ideas for shows.

For its time, and after Ten coming close to financial ruin, this promo was only one ingredient to transforimg a struggling network into a ratings winner in the 18-39 age group. Excellent!
