This is testing the claim that Pyros can fire through walls. I am testing this because I can't find any evidence of this bug save for players stories(And we all know how unreliable those are).

Allow I don't feel that the results of this video are 100% conclusive they still make a powerful argument.

I encourage anyone who has video evidence to the contrary of this video to post it as a response.

  • It happens in corners. For instance, have someone set up a sentry or tele in the buildings opposite to the final cap point on goldrush, then walk under the protruding building and shoot up with your flamethrower. I've done this several times

  • I did try this(and a few other locations as well) I couldn't get it to work.

I you know how to do this Id appreciate it if you could upload a video of it. then we can prove this for once and for all.

  • It's still possible sometimes to catch someone on fire through the gate during setup. It happens a lot.

  • This video is still accurate, no need to discredit it. It's true that the Pyro's flame cannot pass though walls, but some floor and walls are not built as one large piece.

If you want, I would suggest a second test where different seems are tested. For example, if you burn under many starting gates, the seam itself will allow the fire though, thus it's possible to burn other team members before a match on the PC version (which gets updated constantly).

  • The thing is that this trick works with very specific angles. I've seen it happen and done it myself before. I never paid attention to "polygon cracks", but I think it might work better on corners.

  • Wouldn't the correct title be Fire-Proof Wall?

  • Never heard of a FIRE WALL????

    :O

    (horrible joke)

  • I enjoy these myth busting things. Keep it up

  • @LightWeaponsGuy

Perhaps proof that people claimign Pyros can burn trough walls is false?

  • wtf is the point of this video?

  • it works better with the backburner....

  • The only instances I have seen of fire going through walls is the starting gate, and the door immediately behind Point A on Steel. The gate never looks as if the flames are through, but the door makes it quite obvious

  • you should have used bots, because they would have instantly flared up.

and that guy was burning through the FLOOR, so it was base contact.

  • @Pendumish he's obviously not talking about the roof >.> he's talking about being able to ignite from underneath the bridge, e.g. from the water
