The Village Education Project is a non-profit organization started in 2005 by Swarthmore student Katie Chamblee. The program sends college students to Otavalo, Ecuador to teach middle school summer school classes. In Ecuador there is no government-funded high school, so if the middle school students pass the classes taught by the college students, they receive a high school scholarship.
