Who is Aslan? You know about him if you've seen the movie or read the books that he is the Lion in C. S. Lewis's the Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe or Prince Caspian among others). Not Everyone who has seen Aslan picks up on who he really is. Is this you? You may have loved the story but missed the deeper significance of the Lion. Sorry there will not be a series here.

  • Just for the record one of the worst howlers Lewis ever dropped was in The Last Battle, where among those ending up in heaven was a worshipper of the demon God Tash. THose worshipping the counterfeit Tashlan were rejected but this Calormene was saved because of his sincerity.

Anyone who knows his Bible and takes that seriously KNOWS this is outrageous.

no matter if it is only a children's story, but if you say it is more you are advocating syncretistic heresy.

Is it more than a kid's story?

  • @Strefanash You are coming to wild eyed conclusions, not me!

  • @Strefanash He may have written some howlers but there are people living in London right now because of him. He took London children into his home in Oxford during WWII. He deserves some respect for that.

He had theology that I don't agree with but I don't condemn him because he actions were great and his writing were great!!

  • Aslan is a fictional character. Strictly speaking those children who delight in him are idolators, not that they should be forced to the contrary, but that it is merely a fictional character .

i nice story, a move and book i enjoyed, but lewis' theology is so flawed at large that I will never take aslan as anything other than a fictional character.

I say this not because god is unreal, but because he Is real. and the love of the Father does not justify believing in aslan.

    He is FICTIONAL!!!

  • @Strefanash "Children who delight in him are idolators" we could have had a conversation if you had said, "children who worship...." but you didn't. delight is not worship and therefore not idolatry.

"8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. " Don't be concerned about children who enjoy a story.

  • @nighthawk7878 OK I chose the wrong word and inadvertently sabotaged my point. THose who * worship* Aslan are idolators. I am not against enjoying a story. But YOUR manner in the video was that the books were more than merely a children's story. If you agree that worshipping Aslan is sin you are telling me Aslan is NOT Jesus Christ. So which is it?

I am not concerned about children who enjoy a story, or even young at heart like me. But are the narnia books scripture? You seem to hint as much

  • @Strefanash Aslan is Jesus Christ???? I don't know anyone who would pose that.. Narnia books scripture??? Who said that, not me. You are reading in if you think I even hinted at either concept.

  • true, when lewis wrote this book, he campared it to christ fully. Edmond who betrayed the group but was forgivin later represents man because some of Jesus's followers betrayed him. Peter, Susan and Lucy represent loyal ones. The witch represents satan, i think everyone knows that. Aslan represents Jesus because of his goodness and courage, also how he died for others and rose again jus like Jesus. Jesus died for our sins and rose again, the story is quite christian.

  • i love this vid, can you make more on aslan

  • @road35 i heard years ago that he was concerned that the younger generation was starting to not believe the Gospel of our Lord, and wrote the story in the hope that it would inspire the next generation to regain there belief in our Lord. peace ;)

  • Now personally i think that C.S. luis created Aslan as God if Narnia were real and that Narnia is a Christian story.remember Aslan said to Lucy in Voyage of the Dawn Treader."You can find me in your world but i am called by a different name."now to me it sounds like he is talking about God

  • God is like that he loves everyone i mean everyone.God is forgives all.your just stupid if you think otherwise.

  • loved it!

  • "Believing in Aslan" - what's wrong with you? The man is speaking about a nice story in a nice way, that can do only good.

  • I love Aslan! I also love your video.
