hurricane (the hush sound) - cover

this is my cover of the hush sound's original "hurricane." PLEASE look them up. i absolutely adore this band.

in other news, i really need to stop doing songs that don't have an accompanying video. in the past, i have done a variety of things in order to not post a blank screen, created a video montage music video, filmed itunes in its visualizer mode, as well as posing art and photos. this time, i decided to film myself the way i appear during the recording process.

before anyone calls foul, no, this is not the footage that belongs to this audio. the audio was edited and mixed and was not done in one take. the audio and video are both authentic, however. that is my voice you're hearing and that is me and my blue snowball mic you're seeing. :)

@dafana the instrumental is the actual album version run through audacity with simple techniques to reduce the center channel. this effectively eliminates vocals if there isn't a lot of reverb. however, you also unfortunately lose anything else in the center. this often includes bass and drums.

i hate to be a hater or whatever but it's kind of hard to believe that that is your voice. if you put the audio of this vid and the audio of a vid where the real singer is singing, they sound EXACTLY the same.

Beautiful song and beautiful voice!! I just downloaded Audacity because I want to be able to record myself singing covers as well but have no idea how to use it. Could you briefly explain it to me perhaps?? Just how to load a song and then take away the vocals. Thank you so much!!

No, not exactly the same. Greta Salpeter (now Morgan)'s voice is a little saucier, harperjade's voice here is prettier. Both obviously have musical-theatre training, but Salpeter has a stronger R&B influence, especially on the high parts in the chorus.

I don't usually get into covers but I have to say you are really amazing with your voice, and I couldn't tell if you were rocking with the beat of actually playing the piano too, so if you were WOO piano! If not then ignore that comment lol but I love the hush sound too and I never thought anyone could pull off her voice without messing up the original songs style up until I heard you so great job and I hope you get to make your own beautiful music with that voice of yours. ^^
