@height2 You really think putting the title on Arquette was Russos idea? It was all politics and he had to do it. WCW was a train wreck. The company was f*cked even before he arrived. Even if some of his work is questionable, he did his best.
Blaming Russo is just being 1 dimensional. Sure it were parts of his work but....

It's abit disappointing aswell, because Vince Russo had a great opportunity to transform WCW in so many good ways. Yes, of course, he would've had to deal with alot of veterans with "Guaranteed Contracts" & "Creative Control" clauses, but so what, send them all home, let them enjoy their deals from home. All the while, bringing in new faces, creating new personalities & elevating new stars. Building a New Brand, in other words! It's a shame! It was a great opportunity with a Billionaire backing!

Actually, if you compare Russo's work on both RAW & NITRO. The difference is huge. Yes, RAW became great tv with Russo playing a part in it, but Vince McMahon was the filter with the final approval, meaning "The Boss" knows what works & what doesn't. In WCW, Russo had authority & approval of what he wanted, he could've rehaped the company, instead of using themes like the "Viagra on a Pole" match, an Actor as World Champion, being a character himself. His run in WCW was a failure.

Dude needs to button up his shirt.

"I was burnt out."
"So you left to take complete creative control of a failing company instead?"
"Yeah, maybe we haven't met. I'm Vince Russo. I lie a lot."
"Point taken, continue please."

I hate Russo! He is such a liar. He fucked everyone out of good wrestling by making it lame as fuck with stupid gimmicks and angles.
-
He's right about riding that wave for another year. By early 2001 all of my friends didn't care about wrestling anymore.
-
What a horses ass.He has been responsible for some of the most inane angles we have ever had to suffer through.Back then if there was an angle that made you groan and roll your eyes it was more than likely a Russo storyline
-
I also heard that Russo wanted to push Jeff Jarrett but Austin and McMahon weren't interested in making Jarrett a main event guy and that was part of the reason Russo left.
